MSC Smokestack

The MSC Smokestack which, according to the internet, is no longer there.  The power plant itself hadn’t been used since 1975.  MSC were the school’s initials when it was Michigan State College, after it had been MAC – Michigan Agricultural College and before it became MSU.

Taken on the same “Campus Tour” as a few of my other pictures, though apparently I didn’t have high expectations for this shot because I took it with the Pentax Optio 33WR.  The 33WR which was one of the early waterproof cameras and although it was great for kayaking, certainly didn’t hold a candle to a ‘real’ camera with regards to image quality.  It did however, permit getting many pictures on the water which I would not have been willing to attempt with a non waterproof camera.

Picture taken with Pentax Optio 33WR, lens @ 8.2mm (53mm equiv), 1/125 sec shutter, f/7.7, ISO —
